The elected representative body of Pakistani journalists, Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ), National Press Club and others organizations have welcomed the newly established body of Muzaffarabad based journalists working with different electronics media outlets.
Addressing a reception hosted in honour of newly elected office bearers of TV Journalists Association Azad Kashmir at National Press Club Islamabad, Central President of PFUJ, Afazal Butt, President National Press Club Shakeel Anjum and President Pakistan Press Club UK, Arshad Rachial, senior journalist Nasir Malik, Ali Raza Alvi, Nasir Zaidi, Acting President RIUJ, Nasir Hashmi and others expressed their hope that the journalists body will play its best role promotion of quality journalism and welfare of the working journalists.
Terming new body of the TV journalists as need of the time, they expressed their optimism that the organization will spare no effort to preserve the self respect of the working journalists, economic self reliance of the reporters and ending the culture of “honourarism” in journalism and in highlighting the Kashmir issue in its real perspective.
Assuring full cooperation on behalf of Pakistani journalist’s organizations to the TV Journalists Association AJK, the speakers regretted that journalists in Azad Jammu and Kashmir are performing their professional responsibilities in difficult and hard conditions. They said wheither it was devastating earthquake of 2005, cross LoC shelling or highlighting captivating beauty of Kashmir, the journalists in AJK always put their lives at risk to report the newsworthy events. They said that services rendered by AJK journalists in exposing Indian barbarities at LoC and violation of human rights by Indian forces could never be forgotten.
The reception was also addressed by Chairman of the TV Journalists Association, Imtiaz Awan, President Muhammad Arif Urfi, Senior Vice President Amir-ud-Din Mughal, Secretary General Asif Raza Mir. The founding members of the organization Naeem Ahmed Abbasi and Sardar Naeem Chughtai also present on the occasion.
Pakstani journalist’s bodies welcome establishment of Muzaffarabad based journalists
